When you visit my comfortable and welcoming studio the first thing I do is to talk to you and understand you and your requirements: the sort of garment you like; the kind of function you are going to or what the item is required for and the kind of person that you are.
You may browse through my portfolios, draw inspiration from magazines and bring along your own ideas. Using my library of samples and working with your thoughts I will give you help, advice and guidance and advise you on fabrics, styles and colours and then draw up a sketch of the designs I have in mind for you.
I will source the finest fabrics: the best lace from France, velvets from London, tweeds from Scotland and buttons from Italy.
Next I order the fabric and make a bespoke pattern - just for you. Then I will make up a sample in calico (a soft cotton material), and invite you back for your first fitting. At the first fitting the calico garment is tried on and fine-tuning is made to the fit, this fitting will give you a really good idea of how the style will look and allow me to work it so that you feel comfortable and confident with the cut.
When we are happy with the calico sample, the fabric is cut and the dress constructed, your dress is unique to you, my aim is for you to be thrilled and excited to own such a piece.
